MOVE over Sunset Boulevard — the Gold Coast has become celebrity central, with a throng of international and homegrown stars living it up by the sea in the Sunshine State’s favourite holiday playground.
Rock veterans AC/DC landed at Gold Coast Airport on a private jet yesterday afternoon before being whisked away to their beachside base at the Sheraton Mirage Hotel in a fleet of Audis.
The high voltage hitmakers, who will play the first of two shows at Queensland Sports and Athletics Stadium in Brisbane tonight, have bypassed Brisbane to base themselves on the Coast.

Guitarist Angus Young and singer Brian Johnson are touring Australia as part of their Rock Or Bust world tour without founding member Malcolm Young and troubled drummer Phil Rudd.
Malcolm has been replaced by his and Angus’s nephew Stevie Young while former drummer Chris Slade has stepped in for Rudd.

The Suicide Squad star is expected to spend a couple of days in the Harbour City before she heads home to the Gold Coast to see family including her mum, Sarie Kessler.
“It is really good to have her back home,” Kessler told News Corp yesterday.
“I definitely hope I will get to spend some time with her.”
Kessler said media interest made trips home “hard” for her daughter..
“It is hard for her, but it is part of what comes with the job. You have to take the good with the bad,” she said.

US actor Blake Lively, her superhero husband Ryan Reynolds and their baby daughter James, have also returned to the Coast after their two-week trip to Lord Howe Island, off the coast of Port Macquarie in NSW.

Lively is in Australia to film her starring role in upcoming shark thriller The Shallows.
The film’s cast and crew will resume filming in the large outdoor water tank on the eastern side of the lot at Village Roadshow Studios, at Oxenford.

US actor Kevin Dillon, aka Drama from Entourage, is in town filming a TV commercial.
Last here in 1991, Dillon was in the club to see celebrity DJ Brody Jenner, son of Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner), play The Mad Hueys Official Party at Sin City, in Surfers Paradise, on Wednesday night.

Spandau Ballet star Tony Hadley has also clocked on for work on the Coast — as one of the stars of UK reality TV hit I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!, which premieres in the UK on Sunday.

The show’s cast — Hollyoaks’ Jorgie Porter, English soccer player Kieron Dyer, writer Lady Colin Campbell, Dragon’s Den businessman Duncan Bannatyne, TV presenter Yvette Fielding, Boyband star George Shelley, fashion guru Susannah Constantine, boxing great Chris Eubank and former UK X Factor judge Brien Friedman — and hosts Ant and Dec. will be based on the Coast during filming.

Comedians Akmal Saleh, Merrick Watts and Lawrence Mooney are also heading our way for tomorrow night’s Laugh Your Pants Off comedy show in Jupiters Theatre before The Beach Boys — minus Brian Wilson — perform live in Jupiters Theatre on Tuesday.
