TELEVISION’S night of nights has wrapped up and that lil thing called the Met Gala has come crashing in to quickly dominate the fashion stakes.
But don’t go thinking the Logies are already soooooooooo dated, there were plenty of fashion trends which popped up at the two A-list extravaganzas.
HEADWEAR
Sarah Jessica Parker proved she is the fashion queen wearing a Philip Treacy (think Princess Beatrice of York at Wills and Kates wedding) crown to the Met Gala.
SBS newsreader Lee Lin Chin also took over-the-top headwear to new heights as a Logies first timer.

RED
With an oriental theme at the Met Gala there was plenty of red on the carpet, the Logies were no exception with our Real Housewives of Melbourne Jackie Gillies and Chyka Keebaugh leading the trend. Momager Kris Jenner wore a Dynasty (and we are not talking the Ming one) inspired number which looked like she might have plucked it straight out of her 80s closet

CUTOUTS
It wouldn’t be a red carpet without a few midriff cutouts. Andy Lee took new girlfriend Rebecca Harding out for her first Logies, with the gorgeous brunette wearing some daring cut-offs a la Elizabeth Banks at the Gala.

But no one does daring like Miley Cyrus who once again took a wrecking ball to the cut-off fashion trend.

STRAPLESS
Amal forgot her white veterinary gloves his year and cows everywhere are mooing with glee. Mrs Clooney instead opted for a strapless red number which worked a charm. Home and Away’s Demi Harman chose a less detailed (and expensive) strapless red frock, but where was her Mr Clooney? That man is a girl’s best accessory.

VA VA VOOM
Nothing says hello boys, like getting the girls out in a metallic gold dazzler. Just ask Samantha Jade at the Logies and Jessica Chastain at the Met Gala.

HIP WINGS
While a gal with an ample hip, or just hips, probably won’t look so good wearing anything to accentuate the area, others like peplum lover Bec Judd have no problem in that department. Meanwhile, Kerry Washington took it to another level.

PLUNGING NECKLINES (AND CAPE)
Nothing says queen of the carpet like a cape and cleavage. And new mum Sonia Kruger and Lady Gaga did just that. Mirror mirror on the wall …

FLOWING FABRIC
Rihanna stole the show — and broke the memes — with her yellow cape, while Cheyenne Tozzi tozzed up with some arm accessories.

PANTSUIT
Do Ding Dong and Cara have the same stylist? Both opted to defy the gown look and donned a black pants suit for the respective events.
