Ice Cube and the cast of the hit movie Straight Outta Compton opened the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles.
The 46-year-old NWA rapper took the stage along with stars from the biographical drama Straight Outta Compton that debuted in first place over the weekend with $56.1 million at the box office.
‘I want you to meet some friends of mine,’ Cube told the audience at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.

Corey Hawkins who portrays Dr. Dre, Jason Mitchell who plays Easy-E and Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr, who portrays his father, introduced themselves to the audience.
The two-hour show was co-hosted by Ludacris, 37, Gina Rodriguez, 30, and 28-year-old Josh Peck.
The show broadcast on Fox also featured an early performance from 5 Seconds Of Summer performing their new single She’s Kinda Hot.

Ellen DeGeneres was the first award winner to take the stage after being named Choice Comedian.
‘I’m honoured to be in that category,’ DeGeneres said as she accepted her surfboard award.
‘What makes you different right now makes you stand out later in life,’ the chat show host told the audience who also noted it was her seventh wedding anniversary to Portia de Rossi.
Josh Hutcherson of The Hunger Games franchise took home the surfboard for Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi and Fantasy and said he was sad to see the film series coming to an end.

Ready for the beach: Ellen joked that she was headed to the beach and forgot her surfboard as she accepted her award
Rodriguez, 30, took home a Golden Globe award earlier this year for her portrayal of Jane Villanueva in The CW series Jane The Virgin.
In addition to co-hosting she’s also up for three awards in the Choice Liplock, Breakout Star and Actress: Comedy categories.
The nominees were announced in three waves of nominations with the first batch announced in early June.
