Former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok has said she is grateful for her time in the Australian soap.
Sursok played the role of Dani Sutherland for four years before leaving in 2004. She has since enjoyed a successful career in America and is currently starring in Pretty Little Liars as Jenna Marshall.
Sursok said that her Home and Away stint was an ‘incredible opportunity’ and it helped her get work over in the US.
“Home and Away begun my whole career. It changed my life instantly,” she told The Morning Show in Australia.
“If it wasn’t for that show, I never would have got an agent in America. It was such an incredible opportunity.
“I like looking back at it, but I’m like, ‘I’m so young! I’m getting older! Look at my nice rosy cheeks!’ Now I have to put blusher on to make myself look like that!”
Speaking of the success of Pretty Little Liars in America, Sursok said: “In the States, Pretty Little Liars has such a cult following. We just got picked up for the fifth season, we’re doing a spinoff. So I think when people start camping outside your hotel and you have to use pseudo names, then you know you’ve really made it!”

However, the actress revealed that she was convinced she hadn’t got the part on the popular US show after a bad audition.
“I thought it was the worst audition I’ve ever done. I actually walked out and told my husband that I was giving up acting, and it literally changed my life. I think I said to the producers, ‘I’m so bad I should leave’. But they gave me the job!”
Other Home and Away stars have been less grateful about their time on the soap.
Melissa George had vented her anger last year at still being associated with her role as Angel Parrish in Home and Away.
