Disney has released a new trailer for its live-action “Cinderella,” taking full advantage of Cate Blanchett’s role as the wicked stepmother Lady Tremaine.
The film, starring newcomer Lily James, opens March 13. Richard Madden (“Game of Thrones”) plays Prince Charming, who’s told to forget about Cinderella and marry someone who will help the kingdom.
“You are not free to follow your heart,” he’s told by the Duke, played by Stellan Skarsgard.
As for Blanchett, she even breaks the glass slipper in order to keep Cinderella from Prince Charming.
The cast also includes Holliday Grainger, Sophie McShera, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham Carter. Kenneth Branagh directs.
